We are the up and coming leaders
in the Grand Valley. GVYP’s are an ambitious group looking
to make our mark in the community whether it’s business,
politics, or philanthropy. Some members own successful local
businesses and others are senior management at their company.
But we still welcome the young professionals that are just
launching their careers.
Though we have them, we’re not
just bankers, lawyers and accountants. We are also web developers,
journalists, teachers, artists and more. The diversity of
our group is what makes its network so valuable to its membership.
The Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry announced the winners of the Chamber of Commerce “Special Achievement Awards” in Highlands Ranch Nov. 8th, 2007 at the Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives, (CCCE), Fall Conference.
The top award was given to the Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce for their development of the Grand Valley Young Professionals group. Accepting for Fruita was Mary Lou Wilson, Director of the Fruita Chamber. She told the Chamber Executives how the Young Professionals group has grown to over 140 members in its first year. The Grand Valley Young Professionals have been an asset to the Chamber and to the community through educational and service projects. This program will be a role model for Chambers around the state to get young professionals involved in Chamber activities.
